STYLE: Ehrenfelser

Back to Styles List

This Riesling cross was developed for early ripening. The draw back to Ehrenfelser is a lower level of acidity which reduces the longevity of wine made with the variety.

Origin:
A Geisenheim cross between Riesling and Silvaner developed in 1929.

Wyeast Strains:
   4028 - Red (formerly Chateau Red™)
   4783 - Sweet White (formerly Rudesheimer™)
