Brandy

Brandy

Overall Impression:

Brandy derives its name from the Dutch word brandewijn, meaning “burned wine.” True brandy is simply a grape based spirit, however, the term brandy is applied to many flavored alcohols that are produced by other fruits such as apple, apricot, peach, and cherry. The best brandies come from quality wines. Flavor is generally fruity and sweet, but not cloying, and mellows with age.
